Published: 01.02.2017

I want to thank Hunter at Crutchfield for all his advise and help on turning my frontroom into the perfect movie theater. Thanks to Lee from Crutchfield, I know why I continue to rate Crutchfield highest on my customer satisfaction list!

Nov 22, 2006 · Can I hook up two subs to a mono channel amp? The RMS wattage on the subs is 175watts, and the Can I hook up this mono channel amp to 2 subs?Status: Resolved.

Or you can get an amp or powered sub with speaker-level inputs and use the high-level signal directly.

Is there any way that i can hook the subs up to the amp and it still sound good? The lower number is the absolute bare minimum amount of wattage you need to get acceptable results.

This statement made by another is true. But, if you want to bridge it, then you have to hook one lead to the left of one block and the neg of the other, then run this lead to the speaker, and either run one lead and piggy back off it to the other, or run the seperate leads.

Do i need to buy seperate amp 2 channel or i can connect it without that?

How To Wire Subwoofers - Parallel vs Series - Single Voice Coil and Dual Voice Coil

Talk to an electrical engineer. Add together the Wattage of the subs. This MTX subwoofer has two sets of speaker connections, which means it has two voice coils.

I am very happy with my choice and thank you Bob for your help at Crutchfield! MTX ThunderForms fit in out of the way places.

To avoid this, the amp must be able to deliver as much or more power than the speakers are rated for. MTX ThunderForms fit in out of the way places.

But in reality, these terminals are actually tied together inside the amp — both positives are going to the same place inside the amp, as are both negatives.

Some amps can handle this lower impedance, some cannot. To be delivered in a few days, is a RMS amp that I'll wire both sub's, in series, to make into 4ohm, and then wire both subs in parallel to the bridged, 2 ohm watt rms.
